A Member of Youth Parliament (MYP), is an individual aged between 11 and 18 elected by young people to represent their local area on the UK Youth Parliament.
Dress Code for Male Participants will be Kurta Pajama / Dhoti Kurta / Shirt and Trouser (Not Jeans) with Sweater / Jacket / Coat 5. Dress Code for Female Participants will be Salwar Kameej / Sari with Sweater / Jacket / Coat 6. Participants have to listen the talk of other participants without making a noise.
The purposes of Youth Parliament are as follows:- (i) To develop in students an insight into the working parliament. (ii) To make students consider public issues and form their opinion on them.
The law-making bodies are required to discuss various local, national and international issues and then make suitable laws on them. The members of these bodies present all points of views and try to represent all kinds of interests related to a problem.
The benefits of organizing the competitions include strengthening the roots of democracy, inculcating the healthy habits of discipline, tolerance of the views of others and enabling the student community to familiarize themselves with the working of Parliament.
